Privacy and data
What WAFlow keeps in your browser, what leaves it and where it goes, and how to back up or erase your data.
WAFlow is built so that your data stays with you. This page explains where it lives and the few places it can travel.
What stays in your browser#
Everything you create in WAFlow is stored in your own browser, in the extension's storage:
- contacts, tags, custom fields, notes, reminders and appointments,
- Kanban boards and dashboards,
- bots, chatbot flows, templates, canned responses, broadcasts and schedules,
- webhooks and their delivery history,
- the AI assistant's knowledge, personality, rules and activity,
- your settings, and your AI keys.
Your chats stay in WhatsApp. WAFlow does not upload your conversations to a WAFlow server, and it has no cloud copy of your data.
What leaves your browser, and where it goes#

Chrome asks your permission once per website before WAFlow talks to a site that is not WhatsApp or the license server, for example an AI service or a webhook address.
Your key and your conversations go straight from your browser to the service you picked, with no WAFlow server in between. The key is stored only in your browser.
What the license server knows#
The license server records, for each check, the WhatsApp number, the browser id, the browser and operating system, the extension version, the time, the result and the IP address of the connection. From the address it can work out roughly which country and city the browser is in.
The license server does not receive your contacts, messages, notes or boards.

Backups contain secrets#
A backup file contains everything, including your AI keys. Keep it private, and delete old copies.
Erase your data#
Settings → Module settings → Data → Erase all data deletes everything WAFlow saved in this browser, after you confirm. Removing the extension from chrome://extensions also removes its stored data. Make a backup first if you may want it again.
Sharing your screen#
Use Blur to hide names, photos and messages on your screen while you share it. It only changes what you see.
