Your first day with WAFlow

A short checklist that takes you from a fresh install to a working setup, one small step at a time.

2 min read Getting started

You do not need to learn every tool at once. Work through this list in order. Each step takes a few minutes, and each one gives you something useful straight away.

Test on your own number first

When you try a tool that sends messages, use your own number or a friend's for the first tests. It is the safest way to see exactly what a customer would receive.

1. Set your name and signature#

Open Settings (the gear), choose Module settings, and fill in the You section: your name, and a signature line such as your business name. It is added to the messages you send with WAFlow. Full details in Module settings.

2. Save your best replies#

Open Canned Responses (icon 8) and add a reply you type every day, with a short shortcut such as pricing. From now on, typing /pricing in any chat sends it. See Canned Responses.

3. Add a few tags#

Open a chat, click Contact details (icon 15), and tag the person: Lead, Customer, VIP or Follow up. You can create your own tags. See Tags and custom fields.

4. Put your chats on a board#

Open Kanban (icon 10). Your chats appear as cards. Drag one to Contacted or Negotiation as the deal moves forward. See Kanban.

5. Let a bot answer the first questions#

Create a Message Bot for a common question, for example the keywords price and cost, with your price list as the reply. Or start from a ready-made chatbot template.

6. Set a reminder#

Open a contact, choose the Reminder tab, and set a follow-up. WAFlow shows a notification when it is due. See Notes and reminders.

7. Make a backup#

Open Settings → Backup and restore and download a backup file. Do this from time to time, and always before you erase data or move to another browser. See Import and export data.

Good habits from day one#

  • Keep WhatsApp Web open in Chrome. Bots, schedules and reminders only run while it is open.
  • Keep delays between messages natural: five seconds or more. See Safe sending.
  • Turn on Blur before you share your screen. See Blur.
  • Look at Settings → Module settings → Recent activity if a bot behaves oddly. It lists what your automations did.
